273 budding children scientists across Assam participate in State Level National Children Science Congress, 2016

The 24th National Children’s Science Congress organized by the National Council for Science and Technology Communication (NCSTC), Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi in association with Dibrugarh University and supported by District Administration, Dibrugarh is being held from 13th to 16th October, 2016 at Dibrugarh University. The state organiser of the four day conclave is Assam Science Technology and Environment Council (ASTEC).

273 budding child scientists between the age group of 10-17 along with their mentor teachers representing 27 districts of Assam will showcase their innovative projects and ideas in various events that will be conducted during the four day conclave.

The focal theme for NCSC 2016 is ‘Science Technology and Innovation for Sustainable Development: With special emphasis on accessibility for persons with disabilities’. The sub themes are: Natural Resource Management; Food and Agriculture; Energy; Healthy, Hygiene and Sanitation; Lifestyle and Livelihood; Disaster Management and Traditional Knowledge System.
